New members are guaranteed a warm welcome on these monthly walks. So why not look out for them in the web programme and make a date in your diary to come along?

Sat 3rd May Coy Pond – A lunchtime walk. Walk from Coy Pond to Boscombe. Have lunch at the Solent Centre. 9 miles but flat. Call Mike G

Sun 11th May Badbury Rings and Shapwick Walk A circular walk of 8 miles, starting at 11.00am. Phone Kevin.

Tue 13th May Chines of Bournemouth and Poole Walk. My biggest ever programme of summer evening walks kicks of with this local walk of 3 miles, starting at 7.30pm. Phone Kevin


NEW MEMBERS WALK
Sun 18th May Breamore House. An amazing walk! At the Miz maze, Breamore house, New Forest. A 6 mile walk to include glimpses of this impressive manor house and maze. The house is set in the picturesque village of Breamore, this imposing manor house overlooks the Avon valley and is close to the New Forest. The X3 bus from Poole & Bournemouth. Leaves 9.35 am from Bournemouth to arrive at 10.30 am. Call Kerri on (01202) 580002 for start time and place.

Tues 20th May Wimborne & Eyebridge Walk.A circular evening walk of 3 miles probably encompassing a pub stop on the return leg. Start time 7.45pm. Phone Kevin for starting point.

NEW MEMBERS WALK
Sun 25th May Corfe Castle to Kingston. Yes! This is one of Al’s walks so that means it is going to be long and hilly. National trust membership may be handy for parking. Eight miles and uphill to Kingston. But if you are new to the area or even new to the Boghopper this walk shows the best views of the Purbecks. Pub halfway round. Call Len on (01202) 777880

Tues 27th May Wool Walk.A circular evening walk of 3 ½ miles encompassing woods, churches and farmland. Start time 8.00pm. Phone Kevin for starting point.

AGM
Sat 31st May Time to elect a committee! We will be meeting at Len’s garden again and barbecue food will be provided. Bring your own drink. Bring a folding chair to guarantee a seat. In case of bad weather, the meeting and barbecue will be postponed until Saturday 7th June. Call Len on (01202) 777880

Tues 3rd June Hod Hill Walk A circular evening walk of 4 miles exploring the largest iron age Fort in Dorset, complete with some great views from the top. Start time 8.00pm. Phone Kevin

Sun 8th June Pimperne & Chettle Long Barrows About 7½ miles (not again) taking in two interesting historical sites. Contact Bob

Tues 10th June Tyneham & Flowers Barrow Walk.A circular evening walk of 4 miles encompassing Coastal views and a ghost village. Start time 8.00pm. Phone Kevin for starting point.

Sun 15th June Linwood & Blashford Water. A 7.02 mile walk from the Appleslade Inclosure to Rockford and its lakes. Pass the Alice Lisle Pub and onward to Highwood. Hopefully I will not get lost like I did with the “Al type walk” in the same area. We do not go through Ringwood. Walk compiled by a lady who has a charming black Labrador dog in every guide picture as a marker post. Call Len

Wed 18th June Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard. Buckler's Hard is a picturesque 18th century village on the banks of the Beaulieu River in the heart of the New Forest. It’s the place where some of the ships of Nelson's fleet were built. Flat interesting walk. 5 miles. Call Kerri

Sun 22nd June Keyhaven to Pennington Marshes. Starting at the Gun Pub. A 7 mile walk across Pennington Marshes. Mainly flat or even down hill. Call Mike F

NEW MEMBERS WALK
Tues 24th June Thorncombe Wood & Puddletown Forest Walk. A circular evening walk of 5 miles, but don't worry it should be light until 10.00. The walk encompasses a Roman Road, Woods, Hardy's Cottage and a Pond. Start time 8.00pm. Phone Kevin (01202) 392515

Sun 29th June This cycle ride was rained off in March so we will re-try it again in June when hopefully we shall have better weather. Start point is Sandyballs cycle centre, Godshill. We will be cycling along Hampton ridge to Royal Oak pub, where we will have our lunch. This route is mainly undulating, but prepare yourself for a few short but challenging climbs. We cycle on gravel tracks through heath land. You can hire a mountain bike for the day for £15 from the cycle centre, phone 01425 657707 to book a hire bike.
