The Bournemouth
Boghoppers YHA Local Group. Affiliated to the Youth Hostel Association
of England and Wales, we are into walking, camping, YHA camping barns
and base camps, theatre and cinema, country pubs, barbecues, parties,
making friends and socialising. The group was nicknamed the Bournemouth
"Boghoppers" ten years ago. The nickname has stuck and has become
our official title. There are a few problems with the name: Most members
seem to have an aversion to mud / water / bogs etc. Other members
seem to have an aversion to YHA hostels. Few actual live in Bournemouth.
BUT IT WORKS!! The "Boggies" are successful! Complete with a membership
of ages ranging from twenties to thirty-something to forty-something-else
and a programme of weekly social events. If you are looking for a
YHA group, or you are just interested in walking in the Dorset / New
Forest area or if you just like to socialise then please feel welcome
to investigate our group.
